The Farming and Cattle Raising Technician graduated from Bom Jesus campus is a professional qualified to work at any stage of the agricultural production chain, either in the supply of productive resources - sale of inputs, sale of machinery and equipment, provision of services, rural credit – or in agricultural/zootechnical production and the marketing of their products. They are professionals who know how to interact and continually improve their learning from the democratic coexistence with cultures, ways of being, and divergent points of view with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of promoting changes and innovations based on a multidisciplinary viewpoint and technical knowledge. They are agents capable of entering the labor world in such a way that they show commitment with sustainable regional socioeconomic development, ensuring protection to the environment and contributing to food security for all the population.

Scope of activity: 

* Provide technical assistance in the development of farming and cattle raising technology projects;

* Acquire, prepare, transform, conserve and store raw materials and agro-industrial products;

* Develop programs of nutrition and food management in zootechnical projects;

* Plan and monitor the implementation of genetic improvement programs for animals, as well as breeding methods and programs;

* Implement and manage systems of quality control and sanity in farming and cattle raising production;

* Plan, organize and monitor the exploration and management of the soil according to its characteristics;

* Cultivate open and protected systems and plantations;

* Produce seedlings and seeds;

* Plan actions regarding the treatment of crops;

* Plan and monitor the harvest and post-harvest;

* Design topographic projects and environmental impact;

* Work in rural administration;

* Work in institutes and companies of research and development;

* Work in companies that provide advisory and farming and cattle raising support;

* Work in companies and industries that act in the agro-industrial complex.
