Introduction
In continuation to the Program for the Expansion of the Professional Education Network of the Ministry of Education (MEC), Fluminense Federal Institute (IFFluminense) inaugurated Itaperuna campus in March, 2009, with 200 students enrolled in Electrotechnical and Tourism Guide Technical Courses.
Currently, formation is offered in the areas of Administration, Electromechanics, Electrotechnics, Informatics, Mechanics and Chemistry. The campus also offers a university course in the area of Information Systems, which was started at the end of 2013, during the evening. There are, in all, about 900 students distributed through the various training modalities available at IFFluminense – Itaperuna campus. There are also courses through the National Program for Access to Technical Education and Employment (Pronatec) and Distance Education, with classes on Labor Safety both in Itaperuna and at the Pole located in Miracema.
Moreover, students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities such as theater group, robotics, chess and astronomy clubs, as well as English language course at the IFF Language Center, among others. The annual calendar also includes events such as the Academic Week, the Health and Family Meeting, the Annual Symposium on Leadership, Work and Opportunity and competitions that encourage sports.
