High-School-Integrated to the Vocational Training Course in Labor Safety - Youth and Adult modality

Information about the High-School Integrated to the Vocational Training Course in Labor Safety – Youth and Adult modality on Quissamã campus.

The Youth and Adult Education intends to contribute to the overcoming of the Brazilian education framework explained by the data extracted from the Household Sample National Survey (PNAD in Portuguese), released in 2003, through which it was observed that 68 million young and adult Brazilian workers aged 15 and over did not graduate from Elementary School and only 6 million (8.8%) are enrolled in Youth and Adult Education.

Its perspective is the proposal of integrating professional education into basic education, seeking to overcome the duality of manual and intellectual work, assuming work in its creative and non-alienating perspective. Such vision requires the construction of responses to various challenges, such as the training of the professional, the integrated curricular organization, the use of methodologies and assistance mechanisms that favor the retention and learning of the student, the lack of infrastructure to offer the courses, among others.

The Technician in Labor Safety acts in the dissemination of prevention concepts between the employer and employees, standing out as an educator agent, in the sense of promoting conscious attitudes towards safe work. To meet that end, professionals in this area analyze working conditions, plan and elaborate work standards and instructions, reinforce safe behaviors, perform audits and implement corrective actions that extinguish or minimize the risks in workplaces.

Thus, the effective functioning of Occupational Health and Safety in organizations can bring the benefit of reducing human, property, environment and process losses, avoiding consequences that can be harmful to the world of work.
